Increasingly popular, the dry nano powders are used to manufacture everything from new-generation lithium batteries, Ultra HD TVs, fuel cells and pharmaceutical ingredients to cosmetics, transparent sunscreen, tennis rackets and golf clubs. To address any potential hazard while handling these exciting new nano materials, while also maintaining their integrity, we have developed our unique Nanoparticle Containment Isolator to safely manage the processing and contain the ultra-fine particulates in a cleanroom environment.

Cost-effective, efficient and flexible, our mid-range Nanoparticle Containment Isolator is an excellent complement to our wider powder characteristics and nanotechnology equipment portfolio, offering containment levels below 1µg/m3 and a means of containing full-size or miniature pieces of processing equipment, including mills, classifiers, dryers and mixers. Conveniently, this isolator is mounted on castors, allowing it to be moved around easily, while other features include an acrylic canopy for optimal 360° visibility, all around access and HEPA filtration. The Hosokawa Micron Nanoparticle Containment Isolator may be used as a standalone piece of containment equipment or integrated into a multi-unit process system and is available as a standard model or tailormade version, unique to customer requirements.

Specifically designed for the containment and processing of potentially hazardous nano-sized particles to international safety standards, each Nanoparticle Containment Isolator is manufactured from high-quality, robust materials, including hardwearing stainless steel and acrylic, and is loaded with the very latest control technology. The isolator can be supplied as a standalone workstation or as part of a bespoke multi-unit process system integrated with third party or Hosokawa Micron processing equipment. Every innovative solution is created with the specific requirements of the customer in mind and to ensure optimal product integrity.

There are a very wide range of configuration options available, depending on a variety of factors, including the material to be processed or contained and the method of processing, but standard features include a continuous liner port and ULPA safe change filtration. Hosokawa Micron boasts decades of technical engineering and design experience, which ensures each bespoke Nanoparticle Containment Isolator is manufactured to the highest standards and is both technically and ergonomically fit for purpose to provide decades of outstanding performance.

Hosokawa Micron Ltd Nanoparticle Containment Isolators are designed to contain extremely fine dry nano powders and particulates, protecting the operator from the potentially hazardous materials and maintaining the integrity of the nano powder product. Available in a range of standard and bespoke configurations, each high containment solution is tailored to suit individual requirements while also being as energy efficient as possible.

Similar to a standard Isolator, the Nanoparticle Containment Isolator enables the operators to conduct dry powder processing activities in safety and comfort by incorporating ergonomically placed glove ports anywhere on the acrylic canopy for optimal access and dexterity. The isolator can house a range of Hosokawa Micron nanotechnology equipment for the purposes of composing, sphericalization, dispersion, coating, agglomerating, freeze drying and mixing, containing the nanoparticles and evacuating them safely via its continuous liner bag out port. ULPA filtration ensures that the ultra-fine powder is processed safely and efficiently, keeping the material away from the operator.

Mobile, compact and simple to operate, this cost-effective product offers containment levels below <1µg/m³ and is an excellent self-contained option for mitigating the hazard of handling potentially toxic nano powder.
