Available in two models – encompassing a range of rotor and screen sizes, speeds and powers – the Hosokawa Micron Angle Disintegrator can be manufactured from a range of steels, stainless steels or duplex grades suitable for many applications. It is particularly suited to food production, but chemical and pharmaceutical processing (including cryogenic milling) can be achieved using specially adapted versions.

The Angle Disintegrator may be integrated into complex process systems. The three RA versions feature a V-belt drive and can be single or dual discharge, while the three RP versions are equipped with a direct drive and single discharge.

Used For

Used by some of the world’s best-known food manufacturers, the Angle Disintegrator’s capabilities include the size reduction, blending, dry pulverising, dispersing and wet grinding of a wide range of ingredients (particularly fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, herbs and spices) to make products such as soup, purées, sauces, spices, baby food, juices and dressings. The Angle Disintegrator can also process sea salt crystals for condiments and snack food, create vanilla powder for food use and process crouton-based dusting powder to coat food.

How Does It Work

Hosokawa Micron’s Angle Disintegrator is capable of grinding a variety of raw materials into homogenous fine or coarse end products, including pastes, sauces and purées.

Raw material is introduced into the top of the Angle Disintegrator and subjected to repeated impact and attritional forces from the rotating hammers. Centrifugal force moves the material through the 360˚ perforated screen and the processed end product is then discharged from the bottom of the machine, where it can then be collected.

RA models feature a belt drive and separate drive motor and can be structured to discharge impure materials from a secondary outlet if required, while the RP models have a direct motor drive and are configured for single discharge only.

The Angle Disintegrator’s simple yet innovative design means that it can be cleaned easily and quickly, allowing for speedy raw material exchange. The easily changed perforated screens ensure a continuous product flow with uniform results, maintaining a low temperature rise and reduced power, helping to make the Angle Disintegrator’s operation very energy efficient.
