We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator / TIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a qualification in sheet metal fabrication and proficiency in TIG welding. This role involves working with various metals to produce high-quality components and assemblies according to engineering drawings within manufacturing area. The role may require flexibility to perform installation tasks on customer sites as part of the role.

Main duties & Responsibilities

 

Fabricate and assemble sheet metal and mechanical components utilising a variety of hand and power tools. Experience in mechanical and pneumatic systems is advantageous but not required.

 

  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, Duplex and other metals as required with a proven experience in sheet metal fabrication and TIG Welding
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • The role requires manual handling, standing for long periods, lifting and working with heavy materials, so candidates should be comfortable with physical tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with a strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • To complete internal & external training to maintain the qualifications required to meet Health & safety standards and customer regulations.
  • To ensure that all work carried out is in compliance with the customer specifications and standards.
  • To be involved in other aspects of work within the business as required.

 

Qualifications and experience

 

  • Apprentice trained to a minimum of Level 3 in fabrication and welding
  • Previous experience within a Manufacturing environment would be advantageous

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.

 

Reward Package

 

  • Competitive base salary with the potential of overtime (not guaranteed)
  • 38 hour working week over 4 days – Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 17:00
