Hosokawa Support Forest School
When Hosokawa Micron Ltd, were invited to sponsor a Cheshire Wildlife, Forest School for a day, the opportunity to support a local project teaching children how to enjoy wild spaces and help care for the environment was too good to miss.
‘The Forest School teaches young children how to preserve the forest and protect the creatures who live there, the environment and the planet on which we live. As this complements our commitment to environmental protection in our work as innovators in clean air technology and manufacturers of downflow booths and glovebox isolators, we were pleased to offer our support’ explains Hosokawa, Sales Engineer, Michael Tamas who spent the day with local school children at Moore Nature Reserve, Warrington.
The Forest School experience was fun and educational with the children from All Saints Primary School in Runcorn, enjoying learning about nature with the freedom to play in the woods, build shelters, hunt for mini-beasts, experience pond dipping and toast marshmallows over an open fire, too. The innovative education programme can help children overcome challenging behaviour and problems of disengagement and build self-confidence.
‘We are pleased to support this is a local initiative, for local children which provides a great introduction to the importance of preserving the environment in the area in which they and many of our employees live. It’s also a great hands on opportunity to learn exciting new skills and enhance team working abilities.
The pleasure the children experience in the natural woodland, is clear to see, as is the commitment and skill of the Forest School leaders. This is a fantastic local resource with huge potential to positively influence the lives of young people and the impact we have on the environment.’
