Test Centre

To ensure optimum plant selection, Hosokawa has a purpose built Test Centre for conducting trials for potential and existing customers. Our objective is to provide a complete and professional custom engineering service, assessing the process capabilities of our machines and process solutions for customer applications.

Plant Technologies

The test centre is currently equipped with over 40 complete systems and machines from the Hosokawa range of equipment with various processing capabilities:

• Size Reduction

We have machines which cover the particle size range from several millimetres down to a few microns as well as facilities for cryogenic milling and operation under inert atmospheres.

• Air Classification

Covered by a range of equipment from lab size to production scale plant such as the Alpine 200 ATP and 100/140 MZM zig zag air classifier.

• Sieving Technology

This technology is represented by various units from the Allgaier range including machines with air cleaning and ultrasonic devices for difficult to screen materials.

• Mixing Technology

Our test mixers include a Vrieco-Nauta 300 litre unit and a Centromix 200 litre mixer for batch mixing trials.

• Plastics Processing

This is covered by the Alpine Rotoplex range of granulators from 1.5 to 30kW.  The Alpine 500 AFS is available for fine plastic grinding.

• Lab Technology

The test centre is backed up by a laboratory offering a full powder analysis service.  This includes the Alpine Air Jet Sieve, Malvern Laser Analyser, Hosokawa Powder  Characteristics Tester, Moisture balance and microscopic analysis. 

Optimising Customers Requirements

Within the test centre it is possible to run various pieces of equipment in combination to give the customer an idea of how a full scale plant will operate.  Each trial is supervised by a technical engineer and is designed to give the most economical process solutions for any given application.  Results can be substantiated by our full powder analysis service offered in our lab.  

We can also offer a range of particle size analysis equipment including the Malvern on-line particle size analyser as installed on our ACM 40 system.
